After securing a spot in the Asia Cup 2025 final, defending champions India will square off against Sri Lanka in their last Super Fours clash at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Friday. The match will start at 8:00 PM IST.

Under the leadership of captain Suryakumar Yadav, India continued their dominance in the ongoing continental T20 tournament after beating Bangladesh by 41 runs to register their fifth consecutive victory.

With back-to-back Super Fours victories following their six-wicket win over arch-rivals Pakistan, India are currently placed at the top of the Super Fours standings with four points and have already sealed their final berth.

Meanwhile, India are expected to make a few changes to their playing XI in the inconsequential Super Fours game ahead of the summit clash.

The likes of Rinku Singh, Jitesh Sharma, Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana could be given some game time before the final.

On the other hand, Sri Lanka have already been knocked out of the Asia Cup 2025 final race after losing both their Super Fours games so far.

The Charith Asalanka-led side began their Super Four campaign with a four-wicket loss to Bangladesh. Last edition’s finalists later went down to Pakistan by five wickets and were ousted from the tournament.

Players to watch out for

Shubman Gill: The Gujarat Titans skipper once again looked in great touch against Bangladesh in India’s previous Super Fours encounter in Dubai. Gill played some scintillating shots as he forged a blitzkrieg 77-run opening partnership with Abhishek Sharma. While Shubman later fell for 29 off just 19 balls, laced with two fours and a six, he will look to score big against Sri Lanka on Friday.

Abhishek Sharma: India’s flamboyant opening batter has been in sensational form in the ongoing Asia Cup. The swashbuckling southpaw has been a consistent performer for the Men in Blue and is currently the leading run-scorer in the Asia Cup 2025. Abhishek has already amassed 248 runs in five games at a strike rate of 206.66. He will aim to continue his form against the Lankan Lions.

Kuldeep Yadav: India’s star spinner Kuldeep Yadav has been the top wicket-taker in the Asia Cup 2025. The 30-year-old left-arm wrist-spinner claimed three crucial wickets against Bangladesh to power India to a 41-run victory on Wednesday. He has already bagged 12 wickets in five matches at an average of 8.08 and an economy of 5.65. Kuldeep will look to add more wickets to his tally on Friday.
