Fresh from a resounding victory in Gold Coast, the Indian men’s cricket team will aim to bag the five-match T20I series against hosts Australia in the fifth and final game at the Gabba in Brisbane on Saturday, November 8. The match will start at 1:45 PM IST (6:15 PM Local Time).

Led by captain Suryakumar Yadav, India will head into final T20I high on confidence after they registered a comprehensive 48-run victory over Australia in the fourth T20I at the Carrara Oval on Thursday.

Put in to bat in the previous game, India’s T20I vice-captain Shubman Gill and his opening partner Abhishek Sharma got the visitors off to a brilliant start.

Gujarat Titans skipper Gill once again looked in great touch as he slammed four fours and one six to deliver an impressive 46-run knock.

Apart from Gill, the likes of Abhishek (28), Shivam Dube (22), Axar Patel (21 not out) and Suryakumar (20) contributed with crucial runs to power India to 167/8 in their 20 overs.

Later, India produced a clinical bowling performance to bowl out Australia for 119 in 18.2 overs to register an unassailable 2-1 series lead.

Our star all-rounder Washington Sundar was India’s wrecker-in-chief with the ball as he finished with match-winning figures of 1.2-0-3-3. All-rounders Dube and Axar picked up two wickets each.

Meanwhile, India will look to record their fourth consecutive bilateral T20I series victory over Australia on Saturday.

Additionally, India are unbeaten in their last nine bilateral multi-game T20I series, including six consecutive series victories.

Players to watch out for

Shubman Gill: Vice-captain Shubman Gill played a crucial knock in the fourth T20I to help India set-up a good total in Gold Coast, which later proved to be extremely decisive in the end. With 103 runs, Gill is currently the second highest run-getter in the ongoing series and will look to continue his good form in the final T20I in Brisbane.

Washington Sundar: Gujarat Titans all-rounder Washington Sundar has emerged as India’s match-winner in the ongoing T20I series. After playing a match-defining knock (49*) with the bat in Hobart, Washington stole the limelight with an outstanding bowling spell to power India to victory in Gold Coast. With 61 runs and three wickets to his name, our star all-rounder will aim to deliver another fine all-round performance to help India seal the T20I series on Saturday.
