Rabada, Sai Su star as Titans seal dominant win against CSK at Chepauk

We bounced back in style to secure our fourth win of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 and our first win at Chepauk with a commanding all-round performance.
Facing Chennai Super Kings in their own fortress at the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium, our Titans delivered a clinical display to seal an emphatic eight-wicket victory on Sunday. Here’s how the game panned out in Chennai
Rabada led our bowling charge
After winning the toss, we opted to bowl and the decision paid off instantly. Mohammed Siraj set the tone with a miserly opening over, conceding just a single run and putting early pressure on the opposition. We kept tightening the screws as Manav Suthar and our attack struck to keep the scoring in check.
Then came the game-changing burst from Kagiso Rabada. He tore through the middle order, removing key threats in a fiery spell before returning in the death to finish with outstanding figures of 3/25, leading our bowling unit with authority.
Our young debutant Arshad Khan stepped up brilliantly as well, picking up two crucial wickets to ensure we restricted CSK to 158/7 from their 20 overs.
Sai Su shone at home
Chasing a manageable total, we came out with intent. Shubman Gill got us going early, setting the tone with a boundary and a six in quick succession. But it was Sai Sudharsan who lit up the evening in his home city.
The left-hander wasted no time making an impact, finding the ropes and clearing the boundary with confidence as we raced to 55 in the Powerplay. He carried that momentum forward, bringing up his second half-century of the season in just 33 balls.
With the chase firmly under control, Sudharsan shifted gears, unleashing a stunning knock of 87 off 46 deliveries, studded with four boundaries and seven towering sixes at a strike rate of 189.13, an innings that put us on the brink of victory.
After the departure of our openers, Jos Buttler took charge of the chase. Calm and composed, he anchored the finish with an unbeaten 39, ensuring we crossed the line comfortably with support from Washington Sundar.
It was a historic moment for us as our Titans registered their first-ever win at Chepauk.
With this dominant win against the five-time IPL champions, we now shift our focus to clinch two crucial points against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at our home ground on Thursday, April 30.
