The odds were stacked against our bowlers, but we emerged triumphant anyway. Gujarat Titans picked up a memorable win against Lucknow Super Giants, picking up our fourth win of TATA IPL 2023.

We had 31 runs to defend in the final six overs, a nearly impossible task for the bowling department. But we conceded no boundaries in our last 45 deliveries and restricted the opposition under the target. Speaking to the media, Miller stated that this win gives the team a great boost.

“The win in Lucknow was crucial for our bowlers and it gave a huge lift to the entire team. Being so calm under pressure and the way we executed our plans, it really helps the morale. Even in the games we lost, we played really good cricket. There’s always new things to learn but I don’t think we have anything to be concerned about right now,” Miller said.

“The bowling unit has been doing well, we have to capitalise on the key moments and do well in certain situations to close down more games. The guys will do that as the tournament goes on, it’s something to learn about and it is something we do constantly.”

Talking about our next opponents, the Mumbai Indians, Miller said “They’re a good team. They’re done well. We have to take one game at a time, every game is crucial in TATA IPL and coming back from a good win, the guys are in really good spirits. Both teams have trained really well, there’s no easy game in this tournament. It’s going to be a cracker of a game and everyone’s looking forward to it.”

Miller also backed our star leg-spinner Rashid Khan to continue the good work he has been doing so far.

“He is the best bowler in the world and he has proven it for many years. He is an experienced cricketer who has played in different conditions across the world and has won us many games in the past. I have no doubt in his ability,” he said.

With the team scheduled to play four matches in the next 12 days, Miller emphasised on the importance of continuing a winning momentum.

“Momentum is huge in this competition. Coming back from a close win last game gives us great confidence for the games to come. We have quite a few games back-to-back in the next 10 days and this is the perfect time to step it up a notch. We are finding ways to win and that’s what we are all about, hopefully we can continue this in the second half as well,” Miller said.

We will be back at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Tuesday for this blockbuster clash against the Mumbai Indians.
