TATA IPL 2025 playoffs, here we come. We extended our fairytale run as we became the first team to seal a TATA IPL 2025 playoffs spot with a commanding 10-wicket win over Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Sunday.

With ‘Q’ secured, we have qualified for the TATA IPL playoffs for the third time in four seasons since 2022.

Opting to bowl first, our bowlers put on an excellent show to restrict the Capitals to 199/3 in their 20 overs.

For the Titans, Arshad Khan, Sai Kishore and Prasidh picked up a wicket each.

In reply, Sai Sudharsan stole the limelight with a match-winning century (108 not out), while captain Shubman Gill led from the front with 93 not out to help us chase down the target with six balls to spare.

With 18 points from 12 games, we have reclaimed the top spot in TATA IPL 2025 points table.

Arshad struck early

Arshad Khan got us off to a great start as he bagged the huge wicket of Faf du Plessis in the fourth over. Our left-arm pacer foxed the DC opening batter as he gave a simple catch to Mohammed Siraj at mid-on.

Sai Ki provided huge breakthrough

After suffering an early setback, KL Rahul and Abishek Porel stitched a 90-run partnership for the hosts to steady their innings.

In the 12th over, Sai Kishore gave us the much-needed breakthrough as he removed Porel.

GT restricted DC to 199

At the other end, KL Rahul continued his knock and forged another partnership with captain Axar Patel.

Purple Cap holder Prasidh Krishna soon brought us back into the game as he dismissed Axar to reduce DC to 151/3 in the 17th over.

While our bowlers gave their everything in the final few overs, DC rode on KL Rahul’s century (112 not out) and Tristan Stubbs’ cameo (21 not out) to post 199/3 in their 20 overs.

Sai Su, Gill lit up Kotla

Chasing 200, Sai Sudharsan reclaimed the Orange Cap as he slammed Axar for a boundary in the opening over. Captain Gill soon joined the party as he clobbered Axar for a maximum in the same over.

Sudharsan continued his magnificent form as he smashed T Natarajan for three fours and a six to accumulate 20 runs in the second over.

Sudharsan and Gill played some exquisite shots as our consistent opening duo recorded seventh 50-plus opening stand in TATA IPL 2025, the most by any team this season. We raced to 59/0 at the end of the powerplay.

Sudharsan, Gill hit fifties

Skipper Gill soon completed 5,000 runs in T20 cricket, while Sudharsan notched up his fifty off just 30 balls. With another brilliant knock, Sai Su recorded his sixth half-century in TATA IPL 2025.

At the other end, Gill continued the onslaught as our opening pair registered their seventh 100-plus partnerships, the third-most by any pair in TATA IPL history.

Later in the 13th over, Gill brought up his outstanding fifty, his fifth half-century in TATA IPL 2025.

TATA IPL playoffs spot sealed

Sudharsan and Gill continued their incredible partnership with some scintillating shots to guide us closer to victory.

Meanwhile, Sai Su hammered T Natarajan for two fours and a six to amass 18 runs in the 17th over.

Later in the following over, Sai Su smashed Kuldeep Yadav for a maximum to notch up his magnificent century off just 56 balls.

Sudharsan remained unbeaten on 108, while Gill scored 93 not out to guide us to a dominant win in the Capital.

For his match-winning knock, Sai Su was adjudged the Player of the Match. His knock was laced with 12 fours and four sixes.

Having secured our playoffs qualification, our Titans will now aim to continue the winning momentum against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at our fortress, the Narendra Modi Stadium in a bid for a top-two finish.
