On an off-colour day, we endured a difficult loss to the team from the national capital.
“It ain't about how hard you're hit, it's about how you can get hit and keep moving forward.” These words by Sylvester Stallone from the famous movie franchise Rocky will echo in our hearts as we move on from a six-wicket loss to Delhi Capitals in TATA IPL 2024 at the Home of the Gujarat Titans on Wednesday (April 17).
It was one such evening where our plans didn’t give the desired results, while for the team from the national capital, it was a match where nothing could possibly go wrong. Our batters were tested hard and Rashid Khan was our go-to man. He got 31 off 24 balls. His innings included 2 boundaries and a maximum.

But despite a low score, our bowlers put up a brave fight against an in-form DC line-up. Playing his maiden match for the Titans, Sandeep Warrier made an impression with two wickets while Spencer Johnson and Rashid bhai shared a wicket apiece. Spencer picked up a wicket in his first over by dismissing Jake Fraser-McGurk, who got an aggressive start. Warrier’s perfectly pitched delivery that knocked back Abishek Porel’s stumps showed how potent his pace can be.
It was a tough fight, but as Captain Gill said in the post-match presentation, “ We need to move on from this game and come back strong. This is just the halfway mark of the season for us, we have won three and hopefully, we win another 5-6 from the next seven like in the last couple of years.” We move on!
