Gujarat Titans remained unbeaten at home in TATA IPL 2024, after defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad by 7 wickets on Sunday.

Facing an opposition who came in on the back of a record-setting IPL total in their previous match, we put in a consistent performance with both bat and ball.

Sunrisers Hyderabad threatened to put in a similar blockbuster with the bat after winning the toss. They got off to a good start but our bowlers did well to restrict them to 162/8 in their quota of 20 overs.

With a target of 163 in sight, we completed the run-chase in 19.1 overs and picked up two points.

As It Happened…

Put in to bowl first, Captain Gill entrusted Azmatullah Omarzai and Umesh Yadav with the new ball. The move to start with the Afghan all-rounder reaped rewards when he struck in his third over, getting the better of Mayank Agarwal.

Powerplay Done And Dusted. SRH - 56/1. Enter Noor Ahmad.

19-year-old Noor Ahmad, playing his first match of the season, got into the mix of things straightaway. He dismissed the in-form Travis Head with an unplayable delivery that made our #TitansFAM go su vaat chhe, Noor bhai!

Our Titans kept it tight for the next few overs to build pressure on the opposition. Just as Abhishek Sharma was looking to change gears, Mohit’s slower one did the trick and he ended up giving an easy catch to Shubman.

Rashid Khan Weaves His Magic!

Cometh the hour. Cometh Rashid Khan.

Our magician cleaned up the big-hitting Heinrich Klaasen in the 14th over to eliminate the risk of the innings getting away from the hands.

Umesh Yadav joined the party in the very next over, sending Aiden Markram back to keep the scoring rate in check.

Mohit Sharma’s Late Brace!

Our fast-bowling maestro took two more wickets in the 20th over while giving away only three runs.

With figures of 3/25, Mohit Sharma was successful in extending his fine form this season.

The Chase Kicks Off

Our opening duo Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha came out with attacking intent. Saha raced to a 13-ball 25 to give the team a good start.

Sai Sudharsan joined our Skipper to keep the scoreboard ticking. At the end of nine overs, we had scored 74/1.

After Shubman’s dismissal, Miller entered at no. 4 and played a few superb strokes to anchor the innings. Sai and Miller completed their 50-run partnership in the 16th over. The same over also saw us amass 24 runs through some masterful hitting.

With 25 runs needed off 3.5 overs, victory was within touching distance as Vijay Shankar entered the field.

Miller Finishes Off In Style

A solitary run was needed to get the team over the line when our Agent Miller smashed a gigantic six to cap off the memorable win at the Home of the Gujarat Titans.

Su kahocho Titans FAM, Sunday jordaar gayo ne? 🙂
