Shubman Gill leads the Titans into TATA IPL 2026 Playoffs
Gujarat Titans have qualified for the TATA IPL 2026 playoffs for the fourth time in five seasons after a stunning turnaround campaign, winning eight of their 13 matches, with standout performances from Sai Sudharsan, Shubman Gill and Kagiso Rabada.

We have officially qualified for the playoffs of the TATA Indian Premier League, marking another memorable chapter in our journey as the Gujarat Titans. With one league-stage match still remaining, we have secured our place among the top four teams of the season after registering eight wins in 13 matches so far.
This qualification also marks our fourth playoff appearance in five seasons, a reflection of the consistency, belief and winning culture we have built as a unit over the years.
Our campaign this season was far from smooth in the beginning. We started with two consecutive defeats, and those early setbacks tested our character as a group. But under the calm leadership of our captain, Shubman Gill, we stayed united, backed our processes, and responded strongly when it mattered most.
The turning point of our season came in dramatic fashion against the Delhi Capitals, where we clinched a thrilling one-run victory. That result reignited our campaign and brought a fresh wave of confidence into the dressing room.
From that point onward, our team began to gather momentum with every game. Whether it was the batters stepping up with match-winning performances or the bowlers delivering under pressure, different players contributed at crucial moments to drive our campaign forward.
One of the standout moments of our journey came against the Rajasthan Royals, where we scripted the biggest win in Gujarat Titans’ TATA IPL history with a dominant 77-run triumph. The emphatic performance highlighted our all-round strength and fearless approach. We carried that momentum into the very next match against the Sunrisers Hyderabad, producing another commanding display to register a massive 82-run victory.
At the heart of our successful campaign has been the exceptional leadership and consistency of Gill. Leading from the front, our skipper has showcased remarkable composure and class at the top of the order. With 552 runs in just 12 matches, including five half-centuries, Gill currently stands as the third-highest run-scorer of TATA IPL 2026. His ability to anchor the innings while guiding the team with maturity has played a defining role in our qualification journey.
Alongside him, Sai Sudharsan has been one of the brightest stars of the tournament. The stylish left-hander has amassed 554 runs in 13 matches, including a century and five fifties, and currently sits as the second-highest run-scorer of the season. Time and again, Sai has delivered impactful knocks that have laid the foundation for our victories.
Our bowling attack has been equally impressive throughout the campaign. Kagiso Rabada has spearheaded the pace unit brilliantly with his wicket-taking ability and aggression. Rabada currently occupies the second spot on the tournament’s wicket-taking charts with 21 wickets in 13 matches, producing crucial breakthroughs at key stages of games.
Adding further strength to our bowling attack has been the ever-reliable Rashid Khan. Our spin wizard has once again delivered impactful performances throughout the season, claiming 16 wickets in 13 matches. Rashid is currently the seventh-highest wicket-taker of the tournament and remains the only spinner this season to feature among the leading wicket-takers while also being the sole spinner across all 10 teams to register a four-wicket haul.
As we prepare for our final league-stage encounter, our focus remains firmly on finishing strong and carrying momentum into the playoffs. Qualification may already be secured, but our hunger and ambition remain as strong as ever. This journey has been built on resilience, belief and collective effort, and we are determined to continue pushing forward in our pursuit of TATA IPL 2026 glory.
