The schedule for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 has been announced and the marquee event will begin on October 5. The Narendra Modi Stadium will stage the opening match of the tournament between last edition’s finalists England and New Zealand, and the grand finale on November 19.  

The Indian contingent will begin their quest for glory on October 8 against Australia at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. Champions of the 1983 and 2011 editions, Team India reached the semi-finals of the previous two World Cups in 2015 and 2019. 

The Men in Blue will be playing all of their nine group stage matches across nine venues and Ahmedabad will be hosting a very special fixture. The iconic stadium will host the high-octane match between India and Pakistan on October 15. 

Ahmedabad will be hosting two other matches during the group stages - England vs Australia on November 4 and South Africa vs Afghanistan on November 10. 

The world’s biggest stadium will brace itself for the biggest match in international cricket on November 19, when the two best teams of the tournament will face each other in the summit clash.
