Led by captain KL Rahul, India rode on a scintillating batting display to defeat the Proteas in a high-scoring encounter at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi.

Put in to bat, Virat Kohli hammered 135 off just 120 balls, while Rohit Sharma (57) and KL Rahul (60) slammed blistering fifties to power India to 349/8 in their allotted 50 overs.

Earlier, India’s young pacer Harshit Rana stole the limelight with three crucial wickets (3/65) to put the hosts in a great position.

Apart from Kuldeep and Harshit, left-arm fast bowler Arshdeep Singh took two scalps, while Gujarat Titans star pacer Prasidh Krishna bagged the huge wicket of Corbin Bosch to wrap up the visitors’ innings.
