It’s the dawn of a new era in the GT Camp.

At 24, Shubman Gill became one of the youngest captains in the history of the tournament. With an arsenal of youthful exuberance and grit, the Titan is set to build a legacy of his own at GT, where he started his journey only 2 seasons back.

Ahead of the IPL auction next month, Gujarat Titans now have a purse of ₹38.15 cr with 2 foreign player slots and 8 spots in total to fill in, when the think tank regroups for the IPL 2024 auction next month.  This is after we announced the list of players that will continue to don the Titans’ colour next season. The IPL Auction will be an interesting one for the Titans. With the team management releasing a handful of players, all eyes will be on who joins the squad next month as we look to go one better in the IPL this year.

Here’s a look at the retained Titans who will take the field in IPL 2024.

Batters

Shubman Gill

The man who leads our batting department from the front, Shubman Gill has been an influential part of our success for two seasons. While our title-winning year gave us the initial glimpse of what Gill could bring to the table, it was last year that the youngster took on the challenge and turned TATA IPL 2023 into his most successful season so far. With 890 runs from 17 matches at an average of nearly 60, Gill was unstoppable with the bat and ended up with the Orange Cap.

Kane Williamson

The ever-smiling Kane Williamson will continue his association with Gujarat Titans for the upcoming season as well. The New Zealand captain made a quality return to competitive cricket earlier this month at the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 after a string of injuries that kept him out for a prolonged period.

David Miller

A game-changer like none other, Agent Miller often tends to send a shiver down the bowler’s spine. Naturally, we have chosen to hold on to this destructive weapon and ride on his experience, game and ability to come up with those huge sixes at will.

Wriddhiman Saha

Our Mr Reliable behind the stumps, Wriddhiman Saha will once again be seen dictating play along with our captain when the Titans take the field in IPL 2024. While his glovework is second to none, Saha has ensured that he contributes with the bat, turning up as the opener and scoring quick runs in the process.

Matthew Wade

Australia’s wicket-keeper batter Matthew Wade works as an able opener. Having played enough T20 tournaments back home and for the national team, his wealth of experience will keep the Titans in good stead heading into the new season.

Sai Sudharsan

If there was someone who left a lasting impression last season, it was the 22-year-old Sai Sudharsan. Having been a part of the Titans setup for two seasons, the young cricketer came to his own last season. The southpaw made the most of his time in the middle, scoring 362 runs in eight matches at an average of 51.71. TitansFAM will count on him for more such knocks in  IPL 2024.

Abhinav Manohar

Having joined the Titans setup as an uncapped player in 2022, Abhinav Manohar has made a lasting impression in the opportunities that have come his way. IPL 2024 will be an extension for the youngster to take his game a notch higher.

All-rounders

Vijay Shankar

Our go-to man in the middle order, Vijay Shankar is someone who helps the Titans batting line-up with his versatile batting style. The explosive batter is an expert at accelerating the scoring rate when required and also skilfully controls the pace of the match when needed. Vijay Shankar is someone that we look up to steady the ship in times of trouble.

Rahul Tewatia

Our man for the big moments, Rahul Tewatia is someone that the team turns to when crisis hits. You need 20 in five balls or 30 in seven, Tewatia is the man you need in your corner. Someone who understands the game well and has the capacity to shift gears, Tewatia’s contribution to the Titans' cause is on par with the leaders in the team. With a strike rate of over 150, the TitansFAM can look forward to a few more fireworks from the cricketer in IPL 2024.

Bowlers

Rashid Khan

Arguably, the best white-ball spinner in the world, and he is one of us. Having joined the Titans in the debut season, Rashid Khan has weaved his magic at every possible opportunity. The 2023 season saw the Afghan finish the TATA IPL as the highest wicket-taker in the competition. He will continue his dream run with the team in the coming season inspiring a dressing room full of Titans.

Mohammad Shami

Our pace ace who makes the ball talk at his will, Mohammad Shami has been the leader of our bowling department. Be it his lethal spells or the manner in which he contributes to the team’s cause off the field, Shami is a complete player that any team can dream of. While he walked away with the Purple Cap last season, the Indian speedster will be hoping to add another IPL crown to his name next year.

Mohit Sharma

They say bowlers hunt in packs, and at Gujarat Titans, the pack comprises Shami and Mohit Sharma. The 35-year-old medium pacer has been around for a while and often tends to bank on his experience to produce his best. The Mohit-Shami duo wreaked havoc for the Titans last season. While Shami was the swing King, Mohit relied on his variations to stifle the batters. And we would like to see more of the same in the coming edition.

Noor Ahmad

The other half of the Afghan spin twin, Noor Ahmad will continue to turn up in the colours of Gujarat Titans in IPL 2024. On his debut last year, Noor showed why he’s one of the most highly-rated young spinners in the world. With 16 wickets from 13 matches, the 18-year-old was not only effective for the Titans but helped put the brakes on the scoring with some tight bowling spells.

Jayant Yadav

One of the senior members in the Titans’ ranks Jayant Yadav can come in as a utility all-rounder when needed. The team management can bank on Yadav’s years of experience in the domestic circuit.

Joshua Little

The 24-year-old Irishman will be back for the Titans in IPL 2024 hoping to improve his performance on Indian soil. With seven wickets from 10 matches last year, Little was effective in phases.

Darshan Nalkande

He played just a solitary match last season. And for Darshan Nalkande that ended up being the Qualifier against Chennai Super Kings. Thrown into the deep end, the cricketer showed immense composure and took a crucial wicket.

Sai Kishore

The Titans will have an Asian Games gold medallist in their ranks with Sai Kishore being included in the squad for IPL 2024. The 27-year-old is a left-arm orthodox bowler and has made all the right noise this season with his performances. He will be hoping to continue his run of form into the IPL next year.
