The first Afghan player to feature in the IPL, Rashid Khan is a global T20 icon, renowned for his lethal leg-spin and match-winning all-round abilities. He made his T20 debut at just 17 and quickly grabbed attention with a stunning 5/3 against Ireland in 2017, followed by a brilliant 7/18 against the West Indies in ODIs. His remarkable performances earned him the ICC Associate Cricketer of the Year award in 2017.
Rashid joined the Gujarat Titans in 2022 and made an immediate impact, picking up 19 wickets to help the Titans lift the IPL title in their debut season. He followed it up with another stellar campaign in IPL 2023, claiming 27 wickets, including GT’s first-ever IPL hat-trick against KKR.
That season also highlighted his batting prowess, with a breathtaking 79* off 32 balls against Mumbai Indians, proving that he can be just as dangerous with the bat as he is with the ball.
A true Gujarat Titans stalwart, Rashid continues to bring his skill, leadership, and calm composure to the squad as he gears up for IPL 2026. Off the field, he is known for his fun-loving personality, a great cook and a passionate foodie, who also enjoys singing and acting out famous songs and movie dialogues, making him one of the most entertaining characters in the Titans camp.
