After clinching our maiden Indian Premier League (IPL) title in our debut season in 2022, finishing runners-up in 2023, we have stormed into the IPL 2025 playoffs with an aim to claim our second trophy.

Led by our talismanic captain Shubman Gill, we have been one of the most dominant teams in the ongoing IPL.

With nine victories in 14 league matches, our boys have delivered outstanding performances to finish third on the IPL 2025 standings with 18 points to seal a playoff berth.

While our Titans missed out on a top-two finish by a whisker, we will now face Mumbai Indians (MI) in the IPL 2025 Eliminator at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur on Friday, May 30.

Ahead of our crucial clash against MI, let’s relive our journey to the IPL 2025 playoffs.

A Sensational Start

We started our IPL 2025 campaign in an emphatic fashion as we went on a four-match winning streak after an early setback.

After we fell short by 11 runs against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in our season opener at home, our Titans bounced back in style as we defeated MI by 36 runs at our fortress, the Narendra Modi Stadium.

Sai Sudharsan slammed 63 off 41 balls, along with contributions from captain Gill (38) and Jos Buttler (39) to help us post 196/8 in our 20 overs.

Later, our bowlers produced an excellent bowling performance to restrict MI to 160/6 in their allotted overs.

Prasidh Krishna and Mohammed Siraj were our standout bowlers with two wickets apiece.

With the huge win, we not only opened our account with two points, but it also set our successful template for the rest of the league phase.

We then rode on an all-round team performance to beat Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) by eight wickets in our first away game of the IPL 2025 season at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Siraj delivered a match-winning spell of 3/19, while Sai Kishore bagged two huge wickets as RCB could only manage 169/8 in their 20 overs.

In reply, Buttler smashed an unbeaten 73 off 39 balls, along with other significant contributions from Sai Su (49) and Sherfane Rutherford (30 not out) to help the Titans chase down the target in just 17.5 overs.

We continued our impressive run as our Titans secured comprehensive victories over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) in our next two matches to claim the top spot on the IPL 2025 points table.

Titans Emerged As Title Contenders

Our four-match winning streak came to an end after a hard-fought defeat to Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Ekana Cricket Stadium.

However, we soon reclaimed the top spot in IPL 2025 points table after we successfully chased down 200 against Delhi Capitals (DC) at our home.

Chasing 204, Buttler played a match-winning knock of an unbeaten 97, while Rutherford (43) and Sudharsan (36) contributed with crucial cameos to guide us to a seven-wicket win with four balls to spare.

We continued our dominant run in IPL 2025 as we edged defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 39 runs at the Eden Gardens.

Captain Gill led from the front with a 55-ball 90, along with contributions from Sai Su (52) and Buttler (41 not out) to power us to 198/3.

In response, our bowlers picked up wickets at regular intervals to restrict KKR to 159/8 in their 20 overs.

Prasidh and Rashid Khan were our wreckers-in-chief with two scalps each.

While we lost to the Royals in Jaipur, our Titans quickly returned to winning ways after we completed a season double over the Sunrisers with a 38-run win at home to emerge as a strong title contender for the IPL 2025 title.

Playoffs Berth Sealed

Our Titans once again stormed to the top of the IPL 2025 points table after registering a thrilling victory over Mumbai Indians in a rain-affected clash at the Wankhede Stadium.

After we restricted MI to 155/8 in their 20 overs, we were cruising at 107/2, before rain interrupted play twice, and our revised target was 147 in a 19-over game.

With 15 runs required in the final over, Rahul Tewatia, Gerald Coetzee and Arshad Khan guided us to a memorable win at the Wankhede.

Meanwhile, our final three league games were postponed after the BCCI suspended the tournament for one week amid India-Pakistan border tensions.

After the league resumed, we soon marched into the IPL 2025 playoffs with a commanding 10-wicket win over Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

After DC posted 199/3 in their 20 overs, Sudharsan slammed a match-winning hundred (108 not out), while captain Gill remained unbeaten on 93 to help the Titans chase down the target in 19 overs.

Having chased down 200 without losing a wicket, we became only the second team to achieve the feat in T20 cricket history.

While we went down to Lucknow Super Giants and Chennai Super Kings in our final two league games, we will be competing in the IPL playoffs for the third time in four seasons since 2022.
