After a challenging outing in Melbourne, the Indian cricket team will look to quickly bounce back against Australia in the third T20I at the Bellerive Oval in Hobart on Sunday. The Australia vs India 3rd T20I will start at 1:45 PM IST (7:15 PM local time).
Despite a blistering knock from India’s flamboyant opening batter Abhishek Sharma, who slammed 68 off just 37 balls with eight fours and two maximums, the Men in Blue were bowled out for 125 in 18.4 overs.
Later, India produced a spirited fightback with the ball, however, it wasn’t enough as Australia chased down the required target in 13.2 overs to register a four-wicket win at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). For India, Jasprit Bumrah, Varun Chakravarthy and Kuldeep Yadav were the standout bowlers with two wickets each.
With the victory, the Mitchell Marsh-led hosts currently lead the five-match T20I series 1-0 after the series opener at the Manuka Oval in Canberra was called off due to rain.
On the other hand, Australia will be without their in-form pacer Josh Hazlewood, who has been given a break ahead of the upcoming Ashes. Young speedster Mahli Beardman will replace Hazlewood in the squad.

Shubman Gill: India’s T20I vice-captain Shubman Gill will be eyeing a big score at the Bellerive Oval on Sunday. The Gujarat Titans skipper looked in great touch in the opening T20I as he later remained unbeaten on 37 off just 20 balls, laced with four fours and one six. Having amassed 42 runs in two games, Gill will look to deliver with the bat in Hobart as the Men in Blue aim to level the five-match T20I series.
Varun Chakravarthy: India’s talented spinner Varun Chakravarthy will be one of the players to watch out for in the third T20I in Hobart. The 34-year-old leg-spinner bamboozled the Australian batters at the MCG on Friday. Varun has already bagged the massive wickets of Travis Head and Tim David in the ongoing T20I series so far. He will look to add more wickets to his tally at the Bellerive Oval.

India have a superior head-to-head record against Australia in T20 international cricket. The Men in Blue have won 20 of the 34 matches that have played against each other. Australia have registered 12 wins, while two T20Is have ended without a result.
