Titans stars Shubman Gill, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Manav Suthar, and Gurnoor Brar will be eager to make a mark against Sri Lanka in this upcoming Test series.
Our Titans stalwart Shubman Gill will marshal the Indian Test team against a challenging Sri Lankan side in the two-match Test series. The Indian cricket team will travel to Galle for the opening Test, starting on August 15 at 10:00 AM IST before heading to Colombo for the second Test at the Sinhalese Sports Club from August 23.
As we head into the Test series, the Indian side will be brimming with confidence after putting on a stellar display in the three-day practice match against Sri Lanka Cricket XI. In the practice game, our rising stars Manav Suthar and Gurnoor Brar contributed with both bat and ball, helping India gain a strong advantage.
Skipper Shubman Gill looked in fine touch when he came in to bat in the second innings, helping India build a strong platform for the chase with a brilliant 44 off 54 deliveries. DSP Siraj also made his mark with the bat in the second innings, smashing a quickfire 32* off 15 deliveries, including four sixes. Miyan's knock helped India clinch a thrilling victory in the final over of the practice match.
Overall, the practice match provided valuable preparation for the Indian side, with several positive signs ahead of the upcoming Test series against Sri Lanka. Speaking of which, Titans superstar Shubman Gill is also closing in on a historic landmark, as he needs 31 runs to complete 3,000 Test runs.
Considering his current form, one can expect him to surpass this milestone and lead the Indian side to victory. With the Lankan pitches expected to assist the spinners, we can anticipate our talented youngster Manav Suthar making a strong impact in the Test series.
Meanwhile, the experience of Mohammed Siraj will also be crucial to India's success in the bowling department. All in all, we can expect some strong performances from our Indian side against Sri Lanka.
India and Sri Lanka have locked horns 46 times in Test cricket, with India holding the bragging rights after winning 22 matches. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka have secured seven victories, while 17 Tests have ended in a draw.
The last time these two sides met in a Test series was in 2022, when India secured a dominant 2-0 series victory over Sri Lanka on home soil.
