A blockbuster clash awaits in this Super Sunday double-header as our Titans gear up to take on Chennai Super Kings at the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chepauk, on Sunday, April 26 at 3:30 PM IST.

In our recent outing, our openers Sai Su and Shubman Gill showed great intent in the Powerplay. He led the charge and dominated the RCB bowlers all around the park to give us a strong start. He carried on from there and went on to score a sensational 100 off 58 deliveries.

Following the departure of our openers, Jos Buttler (25 off 16), Washington Sundar (19 off 12) and Jason Holder (23 off 10) chipped in with valuable contributions. In his TATA IPL 2026 debut, the West Indian all-rounder lit up the Chinnaswamy with his six-hitting prowess, including a sensational 84m maximum. These impactful cameos helped our Titans post a strong total of 205 at the end of 20 overs.

During the innings break, we caught a glimpse of Virat Kohli and our run machine, Shubman Gill, sharing a light moment, offering fans a refreshing break from the game’s intensity.

Our boys will take plenty of positives from this outing and will aim to bounce back against CSK.

With that being said, our encounters against the Chennai Super Kings have consistently delivered excitement, with several memorable moments in this fixture. Our opening pair, Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan, have enjoyed great success in this rivalry. One such occasion came in 2024, when Gill and Sudharsan scored twin centuries to power us to a dominant win.

Sai Su also played a crucial role against CSK in the TATA IPL 2023 final, scoring a brilliant 96 and almost guiding us to our second IPL title. Both our openers have delivered consistently in this rivalry and considering their current form, we can expect another great partnership at the top in this upcoming matchup.

Gujarat Titans vs Chennai Super Kings head-to-head record

Our rivalry against CSK hangs in the balance, with our Titans having won four of the eight encounters against the Men in Yellow in the TATA IPL.

A look at the opposition

Chennai Super Kings, led by Ruturaj Gaikwad, possess a strong batting line-up featuring Sanju Samson, Sarfaraz Khan, and Dewald Brevis at the top, with power hitters like Shivam Dube and Kartik Sharma adding depth to the middle order.

Their bowling attack is equally strong, with the spin duo of Noor Ahmad and Akeal Hosein leading the spin attack, alongside the pace battery of Anshul Kamboj, Jamie Overton, and Mukesh Choudhary.

Milestones to keep an eye on

Jos the Boss needs five maximums to record 200 sixes in the TATA IPL.

Rashid Khan is six fours away from 50 fours in the TATA IPL.

Sai Sudharsan is 21 runs away from 1500 runs as an opener in T20s.
