From GT to Test Glory: Manav Suthar’s Dream Debut Powers India to Dominant Win
Manav Suthar stole the show with a stunning six-for on Test debut as India outclassed Afghanistan, while Gujarat Titans teammates Shubman Gill, Sai Sudharsan, Washington Sundar and Prasidh Krishna played pivotal roles in the victory.

We couldn’t have asked for a prouder moment. Our young left-arm spinner Manav Suthar announced himself on the biggest stage with a sensational performance as India cruised to a dominant victory over Afghanistan in the one-off Test at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur.
After winning the toss and opting to bat first, India’s batting unit produced a commanding display. KL Rahul anchored the innings with a composed 100, while our very own Sai Sudharsan continued his impressive rise in red-ball cricket with a fluent 81.
But the story of the match belonged to Manav Suthar.
Dream Debut From joining Gujarat Titans as a promising young spinner to claiming a six-wicket haul on Test debut, Manav’s journey has been nothing short of remarkable. Against Afghanistan, he showed poise, control and confidence beyond his years.
Afghanistan struggled from the outset as the Indian attack tightened the screws. Manav produced a spell to remember, finishing with extraordinary figures of 6/33. His ability to extract turn, vary his pace and maintain relentless accuracy proved too much for the visitors. Alongside him, our GT pacer Prasidh Krishna claimed three wickets, while Washington Sundar chipped in with one as Afghanistan were bowled out for 152.
India enforced the follow-on and maintained complete control. Manav added another wicket to his tally, Kuldeep Yadav claimed three, Mohammed Siraj struck once, and Washington Sundar starred with four wickets as India defeated Afghanistan by an innings and 300 runs, registering their biggest victory in Test cricket by runs.

Watching Manav shine in whites was a special moment for everyone associated with Gujarat Titans. We have seen his work ethic up close. The long hours, the discipline and the hunger to improve. To see that effort translate into a match-defining performance on Test debut is immensely rewarding.
In the space of a few days, Manav went from being one of our newest bowling talents to becoming a Test-match hero for India. His debut six-for is a milestone that will be remembered for a long time and we are excited to see what lies ahead in his journey.
