Captain Gill, Washington Sundar, Prasidh Krishna and Gurnoor Brar are our four Titans, who will be in action in the ongoing three-match ODI series against Afghanistan.
After securing a comprehensive seven-wicket victory over Afghanistan in a rain-curtailed first ODI, the Indian cricket team will look to seal the series win when they take the field for the second game at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Wednesday, June 17. The match will start at 1:30 PM IST.
Under the guidance of skipper Shubman Gill, the Men in Blue delivered a clinical performance to outclass Afghanistan on all fronts in the first ODI at Dharamshala. It was a historic match for Gurnoor Brar and Harsh Dubey as they received their debut caps from skipper Gill and KL Rahul, respectively.
Our Titans speedster Gurnoor Brar marked his debut in scintillating fashion by dismissing Ibrahim Zadran on the fifth ball of his first over. Brar returned for the final over of the innings and capped off his spell with two crucial wickets, helping India restrict Afghanistan to 194 in 24.5 overs. Debutants Gurnoor Brar and Harsh Dubey were the standout bowlers for India, picking up three wickets each. Meanwhile, Arshdeep Singh and Nitish Kumar Reddy contributed with two scalps apiece.
In response, our Titans talisman Shubman Gill played a captain's knock, scoring a sensational 84* off 66. Gill was well supported by Ishan Kishan’s 34 off 22 and KL Rahul’s unbeaten 39 off 19 as the Men in Blue chased down the target with 13 balls to spare.
