It was a week to remember for Gujarat Titans’ young star Kumar Kushagra, who turned heads with a record-breaking knock in Round 4 of the Ranji Trophy 2025-26.

Playing for Jharkhand against Baroda, Kushagra walked in early after his side lost both openers cheaply - and what followed was pure brilliance.

With remarkable composure and clean strokeplay, the 21-year-old anchored Jharkhand’s innings across two days, converting a solid start into a 234-run masterpiece. His innings powered Jharkhand to a commanding total of 506, completely shifting the momentum of the game.

Baroda, in response, fought hard but were bundled out for 291 by the close of the third day. On the final day, Jharkhand opted to bat again and though Kushagra could only manage 33 in the second innings, his first-innings heroics had already done the talking.

The match eventually ended in a draw, but there was no debate about the Player of the Match — it was all about Kumar Kushagra’s sensational double ton.

Elsewhere, a few of his Gujarat Titans teammates also made their mark in Round 4.

Sai Kishore showcased his craft with the ball for Tamil Nadu, picking up five wickets across both innings against Andhra, though his side fell short in a four-wicket defeat.

Meanwhile, Arshad Khan produced an all-round display for Madhya Pradesh taking 3/21 in the second innings and chipping in with a gritty 25 to seal a memorable chase against Goa.

But amid all the standout efforts from the Titans’ contingent, it was Kumar Kushagra who truly stole the show — a double century that not only underlined his growing maturity but also reaffirmed his reputation as one of India’s brightest young batting talents.
