If it’s Lucknow then surely there’s a touch of elegance in what they do. Be it their ‘Pehle aap’ culture or their insistence on ‘Muskuraiye aap Lucknow mein hai’, there’s always a reason to cheer in the City of Nawabs. Gujarat Titans will be eager to add some of this cheer to our faces when we face Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the TATA IPL 2024 on Sunday (April 7).

Shubman Gill’s charge at the top of the innings, Sai Sudharsan’s fearless attitude in the middle and Rahul Tewatia’s flamboyance at the death - our batters have been at their best. With contributions coming from all over the lineup, the depth in our batting is proving to be one of our bigger strengths this season.

This is backed by some quality bowling from our Titans as well. Mohit Sharma leads the charge with seven wickets, and Azmatullah Omarzai, and Umesh Yadav provide good support. Captain Gill has enjoyed having an in-form pace attack to fall back on throughout the 20 overs. Add to this the guile and trickery that Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmad bring - our bowlers have lived up to the billing with aplomb.

#LSGvGT - A true test of grit 

The results aside, every #LSGvGT match has highlighted the hunger in our team. No matter the situation, we have often dug deep to find a solution and push the team over the finish line. 

Be it the combined efforts of Noor Ahmad, Mohit Sharma and Mohammed Shami that saw us defend a mere 135 last year or Captain Gill’s unbeaten 63 and Rashid Khan’s four-for that saw us book a place in the Play-off in our debut season. Gill and Wriddhiman Saha going hammer and tongs at the Home of the Gujarat Titans last year also saw our fans being treated to some top-class entertainment.

In other words, jaise murgh pakaya jaata hai, kulche aur naan lagaye jaate hain, parathe seekhe jaate hain aur puriyan tali jaati hain, waisa hi swad humare Lucknow ke khilaaf matches mein aata hai.
