We registered our first win of the season in our previous match as we edged past the Delhi Capitals in a last-ball thriller. The game went right down to the wire, but our Titans held their nerves to claim a well-deserved victory.

With that win behind us, we now shift our focus to our next challenge against Lucknow Super Giants at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on April 12 at 3:30 PM IST.

In our last match, after being asked to bat first, our opening pair of Sai Sudharsan and skipper Shubman Gill showed great intent in the powerplay. Following Sai Su’s early departure, Jos Buttler joined Gill and lit up the Arun Jaitley Stadium with his fireworks, scoring 52 off just 27 deliveries. Later on, Gill (70) and Washington Sundar (55) stitched a crucial 104-run stand, with Glenn Phillips adding a late flourish to power us to 210.

The Capitals responded strongly in their chase as KL Rahul and Nissanka made the most of the powerplay. However, Prasidh Krishna provided us with a much-needed breakthrough by removing Nissanka.

In the middle overs, Rashid Khan played a vital role in pulling things back with a crucial spell of 3/17. Siraj then delivered a timely breakthrough by dismissing the dangerous KL Rahul. With 13 runs to defend in the final over, our star pacer Skiddy stepped up with an excellent death bowling display against David Miller and Vipraj Nigam to seal a memorable one-run victory.

Heading into this contest against the Lucknow Super Giants, we will look to carry forward the winning momentum, and the boys look in sublime form. Our top order of Sai Sudharsan, Shubman Gill, and Jos Buttler have been consistent with the bat this season. In the bowling department, Skiddy and Rashid Khan have chipped in with crucial wickets, giving us a lot to look forward to against LSG.

Speaking of which, Rashid Khan has been the standout performer with the ball in this fixture. The Afghanistan leg spinner has nine wickets under his belt, including the figures of 4/24, which underlines his impact against Lucknow’s batters.

With the bat, Gill has been a consistent performer against LSG. He has scored 271 runs in seven matches against them, making him the leading run-getter. It is needless to say that his contribution will be crucial for our Titans come Sunday.

As we gear up for a blockbuster clash, it was a treat to see our Batting Coach Matthew Hayden and LSG Head Coach Justin Langer reunite. Two Aussie greats who once dominated together, now on opposite sides, passing on their tactics to their teams.
