Travel days are back and we are headed next to Chandigarh for our first reverse fixture of TATA IPL 2024. We take on Punjab Kings at one of the latest venues in the league, the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, on Sunday (April 21).

A short break was all we needed to regroup after the match against Delhi Capitals. Our focus is now firmly on returning to winning ways in the league. The match-up against Punjab Kings will be an interesting one, given our history with them.

Team Talk - Ye Rashid bhai ka jalwa hai

Fans know him as the spin wizard who has captured the imagination of the cricketing world with his trickery. But for us at Gujarat Titans, Rashid Khan is more than just a quality spinner in our ranks. Rashid bhai is a vital cog in the Titans’ set-up. 

Be it his mastery of the ball or the cameos with the bat, the Afghan ace is always committed to contributing to our cause well. This season, Rashid bhai has played two impactful innings with the bat. First, it was a fiery 24* off 11 balls against the Rajasthan Royals to take us home, and then his 31 off 24 balls against the Delhi Capital.

PBKSvGT - Time to settle the score

The last time we faced Punjab Kings, our Titans put up a solid fight. While Captain Gill led from the front with some fine batting, our bowlers contributed equally by keeping the Punjab side under the pump throughout the match. The fans were treated to some smart bowling from both sides though the result didn’t go our way that day. Sunday provides an opportunity to set the record straight in TATA IPL 2024.

The previous meeting between these two teams at the Home of Gujarat Titans a few weeks ago was undoubtedly heartbreaking for the Titans FAM. But the close nature of the match has been a highlight of the contest when we have faced the boys from Punjab in TATA IPL. With three of our four matches being decided in the final over, expect a cracker of a contest when we take on the Punjabi shers on Sunday.
