India has showcased dominant performances in the T20I series against Sri Lanka, winning the first two games in style and proving why they are the reigning World Champions. Under the full-time leadership of Suryakumar Yadav, India have started the journey to defend the title in 2026 on a perfect note.

In the second match, Sri Lanka began promisingly, reaching 77 for 1 in the 9th over with Pathum Nissanka playing confidently. Nissanka's composed innings was halted while on 32 by Ravi Bishnoi. After his dismissal, Kusal Perera took the responsibility of accelerating the scoring rate. Perera played a brilliant knock of 53 runs, which kept Sri Lanka in a strong position. By the end of the 15th over, they were 130 for 2, looking poised to post a commanding total.

However, this is when India turned the game around. The Indian spinners led the fightback with remarkable precision and skill. Bishnoi, who had already made an impact by dismissing Nissanka, went on to claim two more wickets. Axar Patel also contributed significantly, taking two wickets. Sri Lanka's batting line-up crumbled, losing seven wickets for just 31 runs and ultimately finishing their innings at 161 for nine. Arshdeep Singh and Hardik Pandya also chipped in with two wickets each, completing the bowling effort.

Rain intervened in the first over of India's chase. The revised target, based on the DLS method, was set at 78 to win in eight overs. Despite losing Sanju Samson in the second over, Yashasvi Jaiswal and captain Suryakumar Yadav took charge of the innings. Yadav scored a quickfire 26 runs off just 12 balls, while Jaiswal added 30 runs off 15 deliveries. Hardik Pandya then provided the finishing touches with 22 runs from nine deliveries, leading India to chase down the target in 6.3 overs.

With this victory, India secured the series with one game to go. The final match presents an opportunity for India to test their bench strength. Players like Washington Sundar and Khaleel Ahmed might get a chance to prove themselves, while vice-captain Shubman Gill could return after missing the second game due to a neck spasm.

India will enter the third game as clear favorites, aiming to finish the series with another win and carry significant confidence into the upcoming ODI series. On the other hand, Sri Lanka, despite their dented confidence, will be keen to end the T20I series on a positive note and gain some momentum before the ODIs. The final T20I promises to be an exciting contest as both teams look to achieve their respective goals.
