After registering a historic Test win at Edgbaston, the Shubman Gill-led Indian cricket team will aim to continue the winning momentum against England in the third Test of the newly-rechristened Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy at the iconic Lord’s in London starting on July 10.

Captain Shubman Gill led from the front with a generational performance to guide India to a thumping 336-run victory in Birmingham to level the five-match Test series 1-1. Earlier, England won the first Test by five wickets at Headingley in Leeds.

Put in to bat at Edgbaston, Gujarat Titans skipper Gill shattered multiple records after he  slammed 269 to power India to a mammoth 587 in the first innings.

In the absence of pacer Jasprit Bumrah, Titans fast bowler Mohammed Siraj produced a sensational spell as he picked up 6/70 to help India bowl England out for 407 to secure a massive 180-lead in the first innings.

Gill continued his magnificent form in the second innings as he hammered 161 to power India to 427/6d and set up a record target of 608.

Defending a massive target in the fourth innings, India bundled England out for 271 to register their biggest ever away Test victory in terms of runs.

Meanwhile, Gill has been the leading run-scorer in the ongoing five-match Test series. The Indian batting talisman has already amassed 585 runs in two Tests at a staggering average of 146.25, with three scintillating centuries.

In the bowling department, Akash Deep has 10 scalps, while Siraj has bagged nine wickets.

Ahead of the Lord’s Test, India’s bowling spearhead Jasprit Bumrah is expected to return to the starting XI to bolster the visitors’ attack.

On the other hand, the Ben Stokes-led England cricket team will aim to bounce back in the ongoing Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy.

The hosts have made one change to their playing XI as star fast bowler Jofra Archer has been included for the third Test.

Archer, who will play his first Test match in more than four years, has replaced pacer Josh Tongue in England’s playing XI.
