It’s a match-up that fills the Titans FAM with mixed emotions. And if the venue is the Home of Gujarat Titans, then it is hard not to think of the TATA IPL 2023 final that spanned over three days.

Be it Sai Sudharsan’s swashbuckling batting that saw him tear into his hometown franchise or how Mohit Sharma refused to give up with the ball, the storylines are in plenty. Our Titans will look to add more such tales when we welcome Chennai Super Kings for our latest TATA IPL 2024 encounter on Friday (May 10).

It’s been a season of ups and downs. But there has been no lack of Titans rising to the occasion. Sai Su’s form with the bat, David Miller and Rashid Khan’s finishes, and apdo Haryana no hiro, Rahul Tewatia, contributing ably towards the team’s cause, we have given a fighting account of ourselves in TATA IPL 2024. And with our Irish pacer – Joshua Little – joining the party against RCB in the previous match, we expect the Titans to build on their performances to push the visitors to a challenging position.

Team Talk - A Team Effort

A closer look at our run in TATA IPL 2024 reveals that it’s the team effort that has carried us this season. Not relying solely on individual brilliance, this season's contributions have come across the board. While our Captain Shubman Gill and Sai Su have led the assault with the bat, Shahrukh Khan, Wriddhiman Saha, Tewatia and Agent Miller have also chipped in with quality contributions.

Similarly, the bowlers have also been hunting in packs. Mohit Sharma and our Afghan spin twins – Noor Ahmad and Rashid bhai – have been the most successful this season. But Sai Kishore and Umesh Yadav’s contributions can’t be overlooked.

#GTvCSK - Runs Galore

If it’s a Gujarat Titans vs Chennai Super Kings match, expect runs in penalty. Both sides are stacked with some big hitters and quality batters that can exploit any bowling line-up, ensuring every GTvCSK match has been a high-scoring affair.

Be it the 214/4 in the TATA IPL 2023 final or the 182/5 in the league phase last season, our Titans batters have often given a good account of themselves against CSK. With everything to play for on Friday, we expect nothing short of a cracker at the Home of Gujarat Titans.

Head-to-Head

Played - 6

Won - 3

Lost - 3

One of the standout matches between the two franchises, the TATA IPL 2023 final, was a special one. Though the rain forced the match to be played over three days, we rode on the brilliance of Sai Su (96) and Wriddhi dada (54) to put up a solid 214/4. Later, in a curtailed chase, Mohit Bhai kept us in the hunt till the end and the match went down to the last ball.
