The Indian men’s cricket team won an enthralling final at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday to clinch the Asia Cup 2025 title.

Despite a difficult start in the final, Kuldeep Yadav (4/30) and Jasprit Bumrah (2/25) ensured that the Men in Blue restricted their opponents from 113/1 to only 146/10.

However, in the chase, India lost early wickets and were in a spot of bother at 20/3. From there, Sanju Samson (24) and Shivam Dube (33) ably supported Tilak Varma’s stunning unbeaten 69. Rinku Singh hit the winning runs as Suryakumar Yadav and Co. sealed a historic victory.

It was India's ninth title in Asia Cup history, their second in the T20I format, having previously won it in 2016. They have won seven titles in the ODI format in 1984, 1988, 1990, 1995, 2010, 2018, and 2023.

India were by far the most consistent team in Asia Cup 2025, winning all of their group and Super Fours matches ahead of the final.

Meanwhile, India are now unbeaten in 17 T20Is in multi-nation tournaments since the start of 2023.

Abhishek became the first batter in Asia Cup history to score more than 300 runs in a single edition of the tournament in the T20I format. His rampant starts were further highlighted by the fact that he smashed 32 fours and 19 sixes, making the most of the powerplay conditions.

Kuldeep scalped 17 wickets in seven matches with an average of 9.29, an economy rate of 6.27 and a strike rate of 8.88. He aced the final with a spell of 4/30 while also picking up 3/18 against Bangladesh in the Super Fours. His best figures, however, were 4/7 against the UAE in India’s tournament opener. Kuldeep is now the joint-highest wicket-taker in Asia Cup history in the T20I format.

Tilak Varma: The 22-year-old middle-order batter was India’s second-highest run-getter, fourth overall, in Asia Cup 2025. He smashed 213 runs in seven matches, but his most important contribution came in the final, where he made a clutch 69* of 53 balls in testing conditions to take the team over the line. It was also the second-highest individual score in Asia Cup finals in the T20I format.
