After a commanding victory in the first T20I in Cuttack, the Indian cricket team will be aiming to continue their dominance over South Africa in the second T20I of the five-match series at the brand new Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, New Chandigarh on Thursday.
Put in to bat, the Men in Blue rode on Hardik Pandya’s unbeaten 59 off just 28 balls, along with crucial contributions from Tilak Varma (26) and Axar Patel (23) to post 175/6 in their 20 overs.
Later, India delivered a clinical bowling performance to bowl out South Africa for 74 in 12.3 overs, their lowest T20I total.
For the hosts, Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, Varun Chakaravarthy and Axar Patel picked up two wickets each. All-rounders Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube also chipped in with one scalp apiece as India took a 1-0 lead in the five-match series.
Having registered an impressive 101-win at the Barabati Stadium, the Suryakumar Yadav-led India will look to extend their series lead in Mullanpur.

With 5,384 runs in his T20 career, Shubman will be aiming to regain his form ahead of the 2026 T20 World Cup.
Arshdeep Singh: Arshdeep Singh produced a brilliant spell against the Proteas in the series opener in Cuttack on Tuesday. India’s premier left-arm pacer bagged the huge wickets of wicketkeeper-batter Quinton de Kock and Tristan Stubbs, and later finished with impressive figures of 2/14. Arshdeep will be looking to continue his good form in the second T20I on his home turf in Mullanpur.
India hold a superior head-to-head record against South Africa in T20 international cricket. The Men in Blue have won 19 of the 32 T20Is against the Proteas. South Africa have secured 12 victories, while one game ended without a result.
