After a commanding victory in the first T20I in Cuttack, the Indian cricket team will be aiming to continue their dominance over South Africa in the second T20I of the five-match series at the brand new Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, New Chandigarh on Thursday.

Put in to bat, the Men in Blue rode on Hardik Pandya’s unbeaten 59 off just 28 balls, along with crucial contributions from Tilak Varma (26) and Axar Patel (23) to post 175/6 in their 20 overs.

Later, India delivered a clinical bowling performance to bowl out South Africa for 74 in 12.3 overs, their lowest T20I total.

For the hosts, Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, Varun Chakaravarthy and Axar Patel picked up two wickets each. All-rounders Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube also chipped in with one scalp apiece as India took a 1-0 lead in the five-match series.

Having registered an impressive 101-win at the Barabati Stadium, the Suryakumar Yadav-led India will look to extend their series lead in Mullanpur.

Built on the outskirts of Chandigarh, the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium will host its first men’s international cricket match. The second T20I will start at 7:00 PM IST.

Players to watch out for
