Following our memorable victory at Lucknow, we are now set to take on the Mumbai Indians at our Home Stadium. This is a game the fans have been waiting for as the defending champions take on five-time Tata IPL winners.

All our three wins before the match in Lucknow had come while batting second, but skipper Hardik Pandya challenged the tide. He elected to bat first after winning the toss and led by example to take our side to a decent total. Our bowling unit then pulled off a spectacular performance to help us bag two crucial points, which also made it three wins in three away matches so far in TATA IPL 2023.

Another interesting fact to note is that in nearly all of our matches, the Impact Player has had a positive impact, which merits some appreciation for the think tank. Last match, Jayant Yadav made his GT debut and chipped in with an economical spell, while the likes of Sai Sudharsan, Vijay Shankar, Noor Ahmad turned up with positive performances as well during this season.

With every passing match, the Titans are ticking another box and strengthening our case to reach the playoffs. A victory here will take us into the top two and if the margin is big enough, we may even take the top spot as well.

Peak into the opponent’s camp

After beginning their season with two consecutive defeats, Mumbai Indians bagged three wins in a row and nearly got a fourth on Sunday. Their batting department has been in stellar form and when they go one-on-one against our bowlers, it will be quite a battle to watch.

Titan to watch out for

Wriddhiman Saha continues to chip in with crucial contributions at the top order. In a low-scoring encounter against LSG, his aggressive intent helped us get to a decent total and he is energetic and lively as ever behind the wickets. Another interesting thing to note is that Saha has had a terrific record against Mumbai Indians as an opener. He scored 253 runs in five innings he opened against them, at an average of 84.33 and a strike-rate of 144.97.

Key numbers

Alzarri Joseph is one wicket away from completing 100 T20 wickets.

Mohammad Shami will be playing his 100th TATA IPL match on Tuesday.

David Miller is 30 runs short of 9,500 T20 runs.

Rashid Khan has dismissed MI skipper Rohit Sharma three times in the five innings they came across each other in TATA IPL, making up for an interesting duel.
