Captain Gill, Sai Sudharsan, Washington Sundar, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Manav Suthar and Gurnoor Brar are the seven Titans in India’s 15-man Test squad.
After an enthralling TATA IPL 2026 season, the focus shifts to international cricket as the Indian cricket team hosts Afghanistan in a one-off Test to be played at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, New Chandigarh, starting on Saturday, June 6.
Having guided the Titans to a runners-up finish in the TATA IPL 2026, Shubman Gill has joined the squad and will lead India in the upcoming Test in his home state of Punjab.
Apart from Captain Gill, six other Titans will be in the spotlight as part of India’s 15-man Test squad. Let’s have a look at our Titans, who will be in focus for the forthcoming Test against Afghanistan:
Shubman Gill (captain)
Skipper Shubman Gill returns to lead India in a Test match after a whiplash neck injury forced him to retire on the second day of the first Test against South Africa at the Eden Gardens in November last year. The Titans’ captain will head into the Afghanistan series in red-hot form after finishing as the second-highest run-getter in the TATA IPL 2026. Having led from the front, Gill accumulated 732 runs in 16 games at an average of 45.75 and a strike rate of 163.02, with one century and six fifties. Additionally, Gill is the leading run-scorer in the ongoing WTC 2025-27. He will look to continue his scintillating form.
Sai Sudharsan
Having scored 700+ runs in consecutive TATA IPL seasons, Sai Sudharsan will be one of the players to watch out for in the upcoming Test against Afghanistan. Mr. Consistent Sai Su played a pivotal role in guiding the Titans to our third TATA IPL final in five seasons. With 722 runs in 17 games, Sai Su emerged as the third-highest run-scorer in the 2026 edition, only behind Orange Cap winner Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and his opening partner, Gill. Interestingly, Sai Su bagged the Orange Cap in the TATA IPL 2025 season with 759 runs in 15 matches.
Mohammed Siraj
Miyan Siraj is expected to spearhead India’s bowling attack in the forthcoming Test against Afghanistan, in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah, who has been rested due to workload management. Having claimed 19 wickets in 17 matches, Siraj was one of the standout bowlers for the Titans in the TATA IPL 2026. Furthermore, DSP Siraj currently sits second on the wicket-takers’ list in the ongoing WTC 2025–27 cycle. He has already picked up 39 wickets in nine Tests at an average of 26.92, with two five-wicket hauls.
Prasidh Krishna
Titans’ premier speedster Prasidh Krishna has been included in India’s 15-man Test squad for the upcoming one-off Test. The 30-year-old right-arm pacer played a key role in the Titans’ bowling attack in the recently concluded TATA IPL. ‘Skiddy’ Prasidh concluded the TATA IPL 2026 season with 16 wickets in 12 matches at an average of 25.43. Additionally, Prasidh has also claimed 14 wickets in three Tests in the ongoing WTC 2025-27. He could be drafted into India’s starting XI against Afghanistan on Saturday.
Washington Sundar
Our star all-rounder Washington Sundar will also be looking to make his mark in the forthcoming Test in Mullanpur. Washington contributed with both bat and ball for the Titans in the TATA IPL 2026. The 26-year-old southpaw amassed 377 runs in 17 matches in the 2026 season at a strike rate of 150.19, while also maintaining an average of 37.70. With his right-arm off-spin, he also chipped in with crucial overs this campaign. Washington has been a vital member of India’s Test squad in the ongoing WTC, contributing 417 runs and 11 wickets.
Manav Suthar
Titans’ talented bowling all-rounder Manav Suthar has received his maiden Test call-up after his impressive performances in domestic cricket. The 23-year-old grabbed the headlines after he finished as the joint-highest wicket-taker for India A against Australia A in the unofficial Tests. Representing his home state of Rajasthan, Suthar has claimed 129 wickets in 29 first-class matches at an average of 25.76. He is also quite handy with the bat and has scored 945 runs.
Gurnoor Brar
One of our young Titans, Gurnoor Brar has also bagged his first-ever Test call-up against Afghanistan. The 26-year-old right-arm fast bowler, who was part of the Titans’ TATA IPL 2026 squad, has also been included in the ODI squad for the forthcoming series, showcasing his immense potential. Playing for Punjab at the domestic level, Gurnoor impressed the selectors with his consistent performances. In his short career, Gurnoor has already picked up 52 first-class wickets in just 18 matches, with best bowling figures of 6/42.
