Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill and star all-rounder Glenn Phillips have been nominated for the ICC Men’s Player of the Month award for February 2025 on Friday, March 7.

India’s newly appointed vice-captain Gill was adjudged the Player of the Series in their 3-0 ODI series win over England earlier in February.

Batting at No.3, the 25-year-old scored an impressive 87 in the first ODI of the three-match series in Nagpur to guide India to a four-wicket win.

Later in the second ODI, Gill opened the innings alongside Rohit Sharma and smashed 60 off just 52 balls. Gill and Rohit’s brilliant 136-run opening stand helped India chase down a huge target of 305 and register another four-wicket victory in Cuttack.

Gill then continued his scintillating form in the third ODI as he slammed a magnificent century (112) at our home, the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. India rode on Gill’s outstanding knock to secure a massive 142-run win in the final ODI to record a 3-0 clean sweep.

Skipper Gill finished as the leading run-scorer in the England series with 259 runs in three ODIs at an average of 86.33.

Gill later began the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in an emphatic fashion as he scored an unbeaten 101 against Bangladesh to help India register a comprehensive six-wicket win in Dubai.

Having accumulated 406 runs at an average of over 100, Gill also dethroned Pakistan’s Babar Azam to claim the No.1 spot in the ICC Men’s ODI Batter Rankings during February.

Meanwhile, New Zealand all-rounder Glenn Phillips has also earned a nomination after his standout performances in the Tri-Nation series in Pakistan and in the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

Phillips began the month of February with a brilliant hundred (106*) against Pakistan in the Tri-Nation Series at the Gaddafi Stadium. His blitzkrieg ton off just 76 balls powered the Kiwis to a 78-run victory in Lahore.

He scored unbeaten 28 against South Africa and followed it up with 20 not out against Pakistan in the final as New Zealand later clinched the Tri-Nation Series in Pakistan.

Phillips continued his good form in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 as he scored a quick-fire 61 off 39 balls against Pakistan in the opening match in Karachi.

He later pulled off a stunning catch to remove Pakistan skipper Mohammad Rizwan as New Zealand won the game by 60 runs.

Apart from Gill and Phillips, Australia’s Steve Smith has also been nominated for the ICC Men’s Player of the Month award for February 2025.

Featuring prominent journalists, former players, broadcasters and members of the ICC Hall of Fame, the ICC Voting Academy hold a 90 per cent share of the vote while the remaining 10 per cent will be voted by fans registered with the ICC.

From the three nominees shortlisted, the winner will be announced in the second week of March on ICC’s digital channels.
